of <h1>Income Tax Department Launches HARIT Aaykar Initiative for Greenery, Plans Micro-Forests by October 2023 to Celebrate Unity Day.</h1> The Income Tax Department has launched the HARIT Aaykar initiative to enhance greenery by planting trees and creating micro-forests around its buildings and public areas. This initiative was inaugurated on 31st October 2022, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and National Unity Day. The first micro-forest was opened near the Attari border in Punjab. The Department aims to achieve its green goals by 31st October 2023, encouraging participation by welcoming dignitaries with plants at events.
