<h1>Public Sector Banks Acquire Assets of Two Weak Urban Co-operative Banks Under RBI Guidelines Over Three Years.</h1> Two weak Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs), previously under regulatory directions, have had specific assets and liabilities acquired by Public Sector Banks over the past three years. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued guidelines on February 24, 2010, to facilitate the transfer of UCBs' assets and liabilities to commercial banks, including Public Sector Banks. Additionally, RBI provided guidelines on February 2, 2005, and January 30, 2009, for the merger or amalgamation of UCBs with stronger counterparts. This information was disclosed by the Minister of State for Finance in response to a parliamentary question.
