<h1>Finance Ministry Monitors CPSEs for Timely MSME Payments; Aims to Boost GDP and Cut Imports by 2022.</h1> The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has been overseeing the performance of 32 major Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to ensure timely payments to vendors, especially MSMEs, since August 2019. Emphasis is placed on expediting payments to spur investment. By March 2020, CPSEs had pending MSME bills of Rs. 775.76 crore, with payments totaling Rs. 2,813.39 crore. In April 2020, CPSEs received bills worth Rs. 1,598.27 crore and paid Rs. 1,785.78 crore, leaving a balance of Rs. 512.34 crore. The government aims to enhance CPSEs' GDP contribution and reduce import bills by 2022, following directives from the Finance Ministry.
