Under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin, annual house completions increased from 11.95 lakh in 2014-15 to 47.33 lakh in 2018-19. The Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin led to the construction of over 10 crore rural toilets since 2014, with numerous regions declaring themselves Open Defecation Free. Additionally, a 10-year Rural Sanitation Strategy (2019-2029) was launched to sustain sanitation behavior changes. The Jal Shakti Abhiyan has implemented over 3.5 lakh water conservation measures, involving approximately 2.64 crore participants.
