<h1>India's Short-Term Crop Loan Disbursement: Rs. 156,790.59 Cr in 2008-09 to Rs. 214,932.80 Cr in 2009-10.</h1> The Government of India has been providing interest subvention on short-term crop loans to address the needs of Indian farmers. Over the past three years, banks have disbursed substantial amounts in subsidized agricultural loans. In 2008-09, the total was Rs. 156,790.59 crore, with public sector banks and cooperative banks/Regional Rural Banks contributing Rs. 94,147.87 crore and Rs. 62,642.72 crore, respectively. In 2009-10, the total increased to Rs. 214,932.80 crore. For 2010-11, provisional figures indicate Rs. 176,679.70 crore was disbursed. This data was provided by the Minister of State for Finance in response to a parliamentary question.
