of <h1>Former IMF Executive Director for India Passes Away in USA; Celebrated for Economic Contributions and Advocacy for India.</h1> The Executive Director for India at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) passed away on July 30, 2019, in the USA after a brief illness. He had a distinguished career of over three decades, having joined the IMF Executive Board in December 2015. He previously served as the Director of Research at Brookings India and was one of the youngest Deputy Governors of the Reserve Bank of India. His contributions to economic research and policy were widely recognized. The Union Finance Minister praised his intellect and advocacy for India's concerns at the IMF. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
