        <h1>820 Foreign Companies Registered in India Over 3 Years; Delhi Leads with Highest Count of 1,521 Companies.</h1> The Minister of State for Corporate Affairs reported that 820 foreign companies were registered in India over the past three years, generating revenue of Rs. 6.91 crore, Rs. 9.56 crore, and Rs. 8.24 crore in filing and registration charges for 2008, 2009, and 2010, respectively. As of August 18, 2011, a total of 3,138 foreign companies operate in India. Delhi hosts the highest number with 1,521 companies, followed by Maharashtra with 744, and Karnataka with 248. Other states have varying numbers, with some hosting as few as one foreign company.
