The National Statistical Office (NSO), led by the Chief Statistician of India, consolidates the Central Statistical Organisation and National Sample Survey Organisation. This restructuring integrates administrative functions into the NSO and aims to support the Sustainable Development Goals through improved data collection and technology use. The National Statistical Commission retains its strategic oversight role. MoSPI continues to ensure free access to official statistics and reports, maintaining its commitment to transparency.
