This is part of a larger $500 million initiative aimed at improving 12,000 kilometers of rural roads across several Indian states, including Assam, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and West Bengal. The project focuses on promoting economic growth, self-employment, and livelihood opportunities in rural areas, while incorporating climate-resilient road designs and sustainable construction practices. Women were actively involved in the project design to ensure benefits such as better access to healthcare and education.
