The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its ex-post facto approval to the Second Protocol amending the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) between India and Singapore. The CECA was signed on 24^th August 2018.

Benefits:

Signing of the Second Protocol will enhance bilateral trade and will deepen the Economic Cooperation between India and Singapore. It will also improve utilization of CECA.

Amendment to CECA strengthens bilateral trade ties and deepens economic cooperation by improving utilisation of the Agreement. Approval was granted for a Second Protocol amending the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA), with ex-post facto Cabinet approval for the Protocol signed on 24 August 2018; the amendment is intended to deepen economic cooperation, enhance bilateral trade, and improve utilisation of the Agreement's operative provisions.
