Dr. M.Virappa Moily takes over as New Corporate Affairs Minister

Dr. M.Virappa Moily today took charge as the new Corporate Affairs Minister here in Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. Shri D.K. Mittal, Secretary Corporate Affairs and other senior Officials in the Ministry were present on the occasion. Later addressing the media persons the minister said he will strive for the smooth paasage of the Companies Bill 2009 in the now tabled in parliament and ensure an efficient corporate governance. Later Dr. Moily, took a meeting with Ministry officials alongwith the Minister of State Shri R.P.N.Singh and stressed upon transparent working.

Companies reform: new minister prioritises smooth passage of Companies Bill and stronger corporate governance and transparency. Dr. M. Virappa Moily assumed charge as Corporate Affairs Minister and announced an intent to pursue the smooth passage of the Companies Bill, 2009 now tabled in Parliament, promote an efficient framework for corporate governance, and ensure transparent working through meetings with senior ministry officials to coordinate and operationalise these priorities.
