The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) held its 3rd meeting today under the chairmanship of Dr Bibek Debroy, Chairman, EAC-PM & Member, NITI Aayog.
To continue the ongoing discussion on employment and growth, two presentations were made. Dr Ramesh Chand, Member, NITI Aayog made a presentation on “Strategic options for enhancing agricultural productivity, income and pro-employment growth in Agriculture and Allied Sectors”.
Shri Amarjeet Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development made a presentation on the “Mission Antyodaya for Poverty Free Panchayats”.
On the trade related issues, Shri Kishore Desai, OSD in the EAC-PM has made a presentation to the Council. Dr Rathin Roy and Dr Surjit Bhalla, both Part Time Members of the Council presented an update on the Economy Track Monitor. The EAC-PM deliberated on these topics during its meeting.
Employment and growth strategy drives advisory presentations on agriculture, rural poverty mission, trade issues and economic monitoring. The Economic Advisory Council met to advance employment and growth policy, receiving presentations on strategic options to raise agricultural productivity, incomes and pro employment growth in agriculture and allied sectors, and on Mission Antyodaya for poverty free panchayats; trade issues and an Economy Track Monitor update were also reviewed as inputs for cross sectoral policy deliberation.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
