        GST implementation affirmed in Meghalaya; minister to raise request to retain Excise and Customs Chief Commissioner's office in Shillong. Progress of GST implementation in Meghalaya was reported to the Union Minister, who acknowledged public cooperation with the 'One Nation, One Tax' reform and linked it to developmental measures including rail gauge conversion and proposed funding for Shillong Airport air-strip upgradation. The delegation urged reconsideration of a proposed transfer of the Excise and Customs Chief Commissioner's office from Shillong to Guwahati; the Minister agreed to raise the feasibility and desirability of retaining the office in Shillong with the Union Finance Minister.
