Government has amended the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961 vide notification dated 6th of July, 2017, to allocate the subject “Integrated Development of Logistics Sector” under the department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

This information was given by the Commerce and Industry Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today

Integrated Development of Logistics Sector allocated to Department of Commerce under amended Allocation of Business rules, shifting administrative responsibility. Amendment to the Allocation of Business Rules transfers the subject Integrated Development of Logistics Sector to the Department of Commerce by notification under the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961; the change was conveyed by the Commerce and Industry Minister in a written parliamentary reply.
