<h1>India Approves ADB's Role in East Coast Economic Corridor Feasibility Study, $631M Sanctioned for Vizag-Chennai Phase.</h1> The Government of India approved the involvement of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to conduct a feasibility study and develop a Conceptual Development Plan for the East Coast Economic Corridor, connecting Kolkata to Tuticorin. The first phase focuses on the Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC), managed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. In September 2016, ADB sanctioned $631 million in loans and grants for VCIC, with Andhra Pradesh providing $215 million in counterpart funding. This update was provided by the Commerce and Industry Minister in a written response to the Rajya Sabha.
