As part of the implementation of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Project, 8 Investment Regions/ Industrial Areas/ Industrial Cities/ Nodes have been identified to be developed in phase-1 of the project. Out of these eight areas, following two industrial areas have been planned in Maharashtra:
(i) Shendra Bidkin Industrial Area near Aurangabad
(ii) Dighi Port Industrial Area
Government of India has already approved the construction of trunk infrastructure components and landscaping for Phase-1 of the Shendra Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) in the Shendra region spreading across 8.39 sq km in Maharashtra in the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Further Construction of trunk infrastructure for Phase II of Part I of Shendra Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) namely the Bidkin region spread across 31.79 sq km at an estimated project cost of ₹ 6,414.21 crore has also been approved by the Government.
This information was given by the Commerce and Industry Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
Industrial city development: approved trunk infrastructure for identified Maharashtra nodes under Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project. The Government approved construction of trunk infrastructure and landscaping for Phase 1 of the Shendra Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) covering 8.39 sq km in the Shendra region, and further approved trunk infrastructure for Phase II of Part I of SBIA (the Bidkin region) covering 31.79 sq km, as part of Phase 1 development of designated Investment Regions/Industrial Areas under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor project.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
