of <h1>GST Roll-Out on Track: IT Systems Reviewed, Training Ongoing, and Pilot Program Completed for July 1 Launch.</h1> The Revenue Secretary reviewed IT preparedness for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) roll-out set for July 1, 2017. As of April 30, 60.5 lakh of 84 lakh taxpayers had enrolled, with registration reopening for 15 days from June 1. Out of 62,937 tax officials, 24,668 have received training, with the rest to be trained by June 15. A pilot program from May 2 to 16 involved 3,200 taxpayers testing the GST System software. The pilot covered various modules to ensure system readiness, with feedback used to improve the software. All stakeholders participated in this preparatory exercise.
