<h1>Digi Dhan Mela Boosts Digital Payments in India: Over 14 Lakh Consumers Rewarded, 584% UPI Transaction Increase Since 2016.</h1> The Digi Dhan Mela initiative, aimed at promoting digital payments in India, has rewarded over 14 lakh consumers and 77,000 merchants with Rs. 226 crore since its launch on December 25, 2016. The initiative includes the Lucky Grahak Yojana and DigiDhan Vyapar Yojana, incentivizing digital transactions. The program has significantly increased digital payment adoption, with a 584% rise in UPI transactions and a 1352% increase in Aadhaar-based payments. DigiDhan Melas have been held across 26 states and 7 union territories, reaching 15 lakh citizens. The initiative aims to transition India towards a less-cash economy and curb black money.
