India to Establish 50 New Kendriya Vidyalayas for Quality Education, Creating 650 Initial Jobs, Expanding to 4000.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the establishment of 50 new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across India under the Civil and Defence sectors to meet the high demand for quality education. The project, costing Rs. 1160 crore, will initially open classes I to V, creating 650 regular posts. As the schools expand to class XII, approximately 4000 regular posts will be required. These new schools will serve around 50,000 students, supplementing the existing 12 lakh students in current KVs. The initiative aims to provide high-quality education to children of transferable Central Government employees, including Defence and Para-military personnel.
