During the last three years the Ministry has ordered investigations, through Serious Fraud Investigation Office into the affairs of 338 companies on account of alleged frauds. The details are as under:

Some instances of nexus among politicians, bureaucrats and corporate houses have been reported. The existing statutes have adequate provisions to impart appropriate justice in such cases.
This was stated by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
Serious fraud investigations prompt prosecutions and adequately affirm that existing statutes address political-corporate nexus. The Ministry directed the Serious Fraud Investigation Office to investigate 338 companies across a three year period, with SFIO filing a total of 208 prosecutions; the Ministry noted reports of a nexus among politicians, bureaucrats and corporate houses and asserted that existing statutes provide adequate provisions to address such conduct through investigation and prosecution.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
