<h1>India and World Bank Sign $63M Agreement for Tejaswini Project Empowering Jharkhand's Girls and Young Women.</h1> India has signed a Financing Agreement with the World Bank for a US$ 63 million credit to support the Tejaswini project, aimed at the socio-economic empowerment of adolescent girls and young women. The agreement was signed by representatives from the Government of India and the World Bank. The project, to be implemented in 17 districts of Jharkhand, focuses on providing life skills, market-driven skill training, and secondary education opportunities. It includes expanding social, educational, and economic opportunities, intensive service delivery, and state capacity-building. Approximately 680,000 girls and young women are expected to benefit, with a project completion date set for June 30, 2021.
