<h1>RBI Ensures Currency Supply Post-Demonetization: Rs. 5.93 Trillion Issued Between Nov 10-Dec 19, 2016, No Fake Rs. 2000 Notes Found.</h1> Following the withdrawal of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 banknotes' legal tender status on November 8, 2016, the Reserve Bank of India ensured an adequate supply of currency through banks. Between November 10 and December 19, 2016, banks issued Rs. 5,92,613 crore in banknotes to the public via counters and ATMs. During this period, 22.6 billion pieces of various denominations were distributed, with 20.4 billion in smaller denominations and 2.2 billion in higher denominations of Rs. 2000 and Rs. 500. The Reserve Bank, in consultation with the government, continuously reviews currency demand and manages printing accordingly. No confirmed counterfeit Rs. 2000 notes were reported.
