Resident Indians can use this service until March 31, 2017, while NRIs have until June 30, 2017, with limits set by FEMA Regulations. The exchange requires ID and proof of absence during the specified period. The facility is available at RBI offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Nagpur, excluding residents in Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Appeals against RBI decisions can be made within 14 days.
