Mumbai, Dec 14 (PTI) Select base metals including copper, brass, lead, tin and nickel weakened further at the non-ferrous metal market here today following sustained stockists selling amidst lower demand from industrial users.
While, copper cable scrap recovered marginally owing to fresh demand from industrial users.
Tin and nickel dropped by ₹ 10 per kg each to ₹ 1,650 and ₹ 860 from Tuesday's close ₹ 1,660 and ₹ 870.
Lead prices fell by ₹ 7 per kg to ₹ 144 as against ₹ 151 yesterday.
Copper scrap heavy and brass utensils scrap declined by ₹ 5 per kg each to ₹ 374 and ₹ 300 as against yesterday's close ₹ 379 and ₹ 305.
Copper utensils, copper wire bar and brass sheet cuttings moved down by ₹ 4 per kg each to ₹ 340, ₹ 18 and ₹ 321 from ₹ 344, ₹ 414 and ₹ 325 respectively.
Copper armiture edged down by ₹ 3 per kg to ₹ 360 as compared ₹ 363 and copper sheet cuttings softened by ₹ 2 per kg to ₹ 358 from ₹ 360 yesterday.
However, copper cable scrap regained by ₹ 4 per kg to ₹ 390 as against ₹ 386 yesterday.
Base metals prices fall as stockist selling and weak industrial demand push declines, while cable scrap shows slight recovery. Select base metals in the non-ferrous market weakened due to sustained stockist selling and softer industrial demand, affecting copper, brass, lead, tin and nickel across finished and scrap categories; copper cable scrap, however, recovered marginally on fresh industrial demand.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
