Reference rate for US Dollar sets rupee exchange rates for major currencies and determines the SDR rupee basis. The Reserve Bank announces the rupee reference rate for the US Dollar and, using that reference rate together with middle cross currency rates, provides corresponding exchange rates for the euro, pound sterling and Japanese yen; the SDR Rupee basis is to be derived from the stated reference rate.
