<h1>Indian Leather Development Programme Boosts Skills, Infrastructure, and Environmental Initiatives with Rs. 990.36 Crore Budget.</h1> The Indian Leather Development Programme (ILDP) is a central sector scheme with a budget of Rs. 990.36 crore during the 12th Plan period, comprising six sub-schemes. These include technology upgradation for leather units, skill development training for unemployed and employed workers, infrastructure support through Mega Leather Clusters, support for artisans, environmental improvements via Common Effluent Treatment Plants, and establishment of new Footwear Design and Development Institute branches. The program has trained over 373,000 individuals, placed 300,113 in the industry, and supported environmental projects with significant funding allocations.
