Reference Rate for US Dollar sets rupee cross currency exchange calculations and determines SDR rupee conversion basis. The Reserve Bank of India's published Reference Rate for the US Dollar serves as the primary benchmark for deriving rupee exchange rates for other currencies by applying the middle rates of cross currency quotes; the SDR rupee rate is explicitly based on that reference rate.
