CBDT Signs 11 New Advance Pricing Agreements to Boost Tax Certainty for Indian Subsidiaries of Foreign Companies.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has signed eleven new Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs) with Indian subsidiaries of foreign companies, aiming to enhance tax certainty in transfer pricing. These APAs cover various sectors, including investment advisory, engineering design, and software development. Seven agreements include rollback provisions, covering up to nine years, while four are for future five-year periods. Since the APA program's inception in 2012, 31 agreements have been signed, with a significant increase in activity this fiscal year. Analysts believe this momentum will help reduce disputes, with 30 to 40 more APAs expected by fiscal year-end.
