Reference rate for US dollar determines exchange rates for other currencies and SDR rupee valuation. The central bank publishes a Reference Rate for the US dollar that serves as the benchmark for deriving Rupee exchange rates; cross-currency middle rates are applied with that reference to produce Euro, Pound Sterling and Japanese Yen rates against the Rupee. The SDR-Rupee rate is likewise determined based on the same Reference Rate framework.
