of <h1>Nine Agro and Food Processing SEZs Approved; Four Active, Exporting Rs. 676.75 Crore by End of 2014.</h1> Since the implementation of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Act, 2005, and Rules, 2006, nine SEZs have been approved for the Agro and Food Processing sector, with eight being notified. Currently, four SEZs are actively exporting. As of December 31, 2014, exports from these SEZs amounted to Rs. 676.75 crore, contributing 0.19% to the total exports from SEZs. This information was provided by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
