This project aims to enhance road transport connectivity by reconstructing and rehabilitating major district roads to all-weather standards. Innovative elements include a State Highways Fund, toll plus annuity models, and border checkposts. The project, covering 70% of the $500 million cost, will be completed by April 2018. It also includes five-year maintenance contracts and an accident response system. The initiative will improve access to markets and services for remote communities.
