<h1>Government Extends Duty Exemptions on Solar Components to Boost Solar Power Utilization, Aiming to Reduce Manufacturing Costs.</h1> The government has extended exemptions from excise duty and basic customs duty on solar panels and related components to boost solar power utilization. These exemptions apply to solar cells, machinery for solar projects, EVA sheets, solar backsheets, solar tempered glass, and flat copper wire for PV ribbons. This policy, maintained over the past three years, aims to facilitate solar power generation by reducing costs for manufacturers. The announcement was made by the Minister of State for Finance in response to a query in the Lok Sabha.
