Smt. Anjali Prasad, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of India to the World Trade Organization, presented her Credentials to Director General of WTO, Mr. Roberto Carvalho de Azevedo yesterday in Geneva.
Smt. Prasad is a 1983 batch Uttaranchal cadre IAS officer. Smt. Prasad was Deputy Secretary in the Trade Policy Division of the Ministry of Commerce from 1991-1995. Later on, from 2003 to 2006 she was Joint Secretary (Trade Division), Ministry of Agriculture. From 2009 to April 2014, she was Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Here, she handled investment negotiations under the India-EU Broadbased Trade and Investment Agreement and Foreign Direct Investment Policy too.
Ambassadorial accreditation establishes permanent representation enabling engagement on trade policy, investment negotiations and FDI governance. Anjali Prasad presented credentials as India's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization, formalizing her authority to represent India in multilateral trade matters. Her prior roles in the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture trade division, and as Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion involved handling investment negotiations on an India-EU trade and investment track and working on Foreign Direct Investment policy, demonstrating expertise in trade negotiation and investment policy formulation.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
