Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax revenue collections rose to Rs. 150686/- Crore during April-September 2010. Thus there is an increase of 44.4 percent in revenue collections at all India level during April-September 2010 as compared to corresponding period in previous year i.e. April-September 2009.
Revenue collections from Customs increased to Rs. 63229/- Crore during the period i.e. an increase of 66.8 percent as compared to corresponding period in previous year. Similarly, collections from Central Excise rose to Rs. 60834/- Crore in April-September, 2010 i.e. an increase of 40.7 percent as compared to corresponding period in previous year.
Revenue collections from Service Tax rose to Rs. 26623/- Crore in April-September, 2010 i.e. an increase of 14.8 percent as compared to corresponding period in previous year.
Total revenue collections of Rs. 150686 Crore from Indirect Taxes during April - September, 2010 is 48.1 percent of the Budget Estimates of 2010-11.

Indirect tax collections rose sharply in the first half of the fiscal year, driven by customs and excise growth. Indirect tax collections for April-September 2010 rose 44.4 percent year-on-year to Rs. 150686 crore, amounting to 48.1 percent of the 2010-11 Budget Estimates; customs receipts increased 66.8 percent to Rs. 63229 crore, central excise rose 40.7 percent to Rs. 60834 crore, and service tax grew 14.8 percent to Rs. 26623 crore compared to April-September 2009.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
