<h1>Women SHGs Credit Surge: Over 41 Lakh Groups Received Rs 36,893 Crore by 2013, Up from 9.7 Lakh in 2003.</h1> More than 41 lakh Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) received credit by December 2013, as announced during the Interim Budget presentation in the Lok Sabha. Ten years prior, only about 9.7 lakh women SHGs were linked to banks for credit. By the end of 2013, this number had increased to 41.16 lakh SHGs, with an outstanding credit amount of Rs 36,893 crore.
