<h1>India Expands Trade Deal with MERCOSUR, Adding More Products and Venezuela to 2004 Agreement.</h1> The Government of India is negotiating a Broad-Based Trade and Investment Agreement with the European Union, with fifteen rounds of talks completed, the latest in May 2013. India signed a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with MERCOSUR in 2004, covering 450 Indian and 452 MERCOSUR items, operational since June 2009. Recognizing the importance of trade with MERCOSUR, the agreement is being expanded to include more products and Venezuela, which joined MERCOSUR in 2012. This information was disclosed by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the Lok Sabha.
