India was represented at the World Economic Forum annual meeting at Davos, recently, by a delegation of approximately 125 members. The theme of the annual meeting was “The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business”. The meeting provides a platform for discussion and further thinking on the most pressing contemporary issues facing the world. The discussions take place according to a pre-set agenda with specific invitees as speakers for specific sessions. A range of subjects were covered in the agenda including employment, creative economy, youth values and aspirations, economy and policy making, manufacturing, trade, sustainable business infrastructure, climate change and water security. ‘Iran in the World’ and issues pertaining to Europe including currency issues were also on the agenda.
The information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. E.M. Sudarsana Natchiappan in Rajya Sabha today.
International representation at global forum: India delegation engaged on economic, policy, climate and governance discussions. India was represented at the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos by a delegation of approximately 125 members to engage in agenda-driven sessions on employment, creative economy, youth aspirations, economic policy making, manufacturing and trade, sustainable business infrastructure, climate change and water security; separate sessions addressed Iran in the world and European currency issues, with participation organised around pre-set agendas and designated speakers.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
