DVAT return

Guest

let me know please while fiilling form dvat 16 what amount should be filled in column no R6.2. i.e. purchases when our purchase is 100 and input vat is 4. whether the amount to be filled 100 or 104 (inclusive of vat).

Purchase reporting on DVAT return requires net purchase entry with input tax credit shown separately. Purchases must be reported net of VAT on the DVAT return, with the invoice value entered as the purchase amount and the recoverable input tax shown separately in the adjacent tax-credit field in the same reporting row; taxpayers should verify the correct return column reference against the DVAT form format. I think your query is related to column No.R 5.2 (not 6.2) relating to "purchase of other goods in Delhi". In the Column, under the heading purchase, you need to show purchase cost net of VAT i.e. 100 and ITC of 4 should be shown under the heading Tax credit next to purchase in the same column R5.2. Pl refer the format of DVAT 16 - Delhi VAT Return once again accordingly.
