Amendment Needed for Service Tax Registration Due to Reverse Charge Changes Effective July 1, 2012, for Manpower Services A discussion on a forum addresses whether an amendment to the Service Tax Registration Certificate is required due to changes in the reverse charge mechanism effective from July 1, 2012. The original query highlights that under this mechanism, the service provider pays 25% of the tax, while the service receiver pays 75%. The question is whether the registration certificate needs updating to include manpower services. Responses indicate that if registered after July 1, 2012, an amendment is necessary. If registered before that date, an amendment is still required to include manpower services, referencing specific circulars and notifications. (AI Summary)
