take cenvat credit

Guest

Dear sir,

Central Excise register new excistration take first time,  certificate  dt. 11.04.12

before registration he was purchase one item cenvat Rs. 10000.  Can we take cenvat credit in Part II Register

for this item.

Cenvat credit entitlement for pre-registration purchases requires entry in Part II register and notification within one month. Entitlement to CENVAT credit for inputs purchased before initial excise registration may be availed by recording the credit in the Part II CENVAT register, preserving the invoice, and notifying the Range superintendent of maintained records within one month of registration under Rule 5(2) of the Central Excise Rules, 2002.
