Government Employee Questions Tax on Lump Sum Salary Without Form 16; Advised to Report Income for Assessment Year 2011-12. A government employee expressed concerns about paying income tax on a lump sum salary received for the period from August 2010 to June 2011, totaling approximately 3.5 lakhs. The employee questioned the correctness of paying around Rs 11,000 in taxes without receiving Form 16, which the drawing officer plans to issue the following year. In response, one participant noted the lack of TDS deduction as the reason for not receiving Form 16, advising to report all income for the assessment year 2011-12. Another participant agreed with the drawing officer's decision due to the absence of advance tax collection. (AI Summary)
