We have a unit where we manufacture plastic spools. We import/buy synthetic filaments in bulk packings and subsequently rewond into small packings on the bobbins made out of us. This is a 100% EOU. We would like to come out from EOU status. Our issue is the import product and also export product falls under the same CETH (Except production of plastic spools there is no manufacturing activity). In this situation shall we get Advance License from the authorities with applicable waste %.
Kindly advise.
Company Seeks Guidance on Exiting EOU Status and Obtaining Advance License for Plastic Spool Manufacturing A company involved in manufacturing plastic spools within a 100% Export Oriented Unit (EOU) seeks advice on exiting EOU status. They import synthetic filaments, which are rewound into small packings, and both the import and export products fall under the same Customs Tariff Heading (CETH). The company inquires about obtaining an Advance License with applicable waste percentages. A respondent advises checking the Standard Input Output Norms (SION) for the export product. If SION is not established, the company should apply for adhoc norms that might later be converted into SION. (AI Summary)
