MOT Charges Required for Container Removal After 4 PM on Working Days, Confirms Customs Circular No. 31/2003-Cus. A user inquired about Merchant Over Time (MOT) charges for removing containers after 4:00 PM on working days, referencing Circular No. 68/98-Customs. They questioned whether Rs. 585 in charges should be paid for removing five containers. A respondent confirmed the necessity of paying MOT charges, even during office hours, for units classified as EOU, EHTP, or STP, as per Customs Circular No. 31/2003-Cus. The respondent agreed with the original poster's interpretation of the charges as outlined in the 1998 circular. (AI Summary)
