Company Misses TDS Credit Due to Error; Advised to Appeal to CIT for Resolution and Improve Accounting Practices. A private limited company failed to claim TDS credit while filing their income tax return for the assessment year 2004-05 due to an accounting error. During assessment proceedings, they submitted an original TDS certificate for Rs. 2,45,000, but the Assessing Officer refused the claim. The query seeks advice on whether the claim should be accepted or if an appeal to the CIT is necessary. The response suggests filing a CIT appeal as no other options are available for the previous period, and advises improving accounting practices to prevent future errors. (AI Summary)
