How much do I have to pay for sales on inter state sales?

GST rate on clothing: inter state sales attract IGST while intra state sales are split between centre and state.
Inter-state supplies of readymade garments are subject to IGST at 12%, while intra-state supplies attract CGST and SGST at 6% each. Since January 2022 the GST rate on clothing is fixed at 12% GST irrespective of the garment's price, replacing earlier differential lower rate treatment for lower priced garments. (AI Summary)

Beginner's question. I am starting a garments business. My place is Guwahati and I have a shopping website. Now the total sales for the first month is below Rs. 2000/- . Sales were made to people in Kolkata and Bangalore. How much GST do I have to pay for this?

You Should charge GST 12% on inter state sales made by you. In case of intra state sales charges GST as 6% CGST and 6% SGST.

From January 2022, the GST rates on clothes overall has been fixed at 12% irrespective of value. It means that the GST rates on clothes of any value whether below Rs. 1,000 or above Rs. 1,000 is 12%, compared to the earlier GST of 5% on garments priced up to Rs.14-Oct-2022
