New Registration - State Jurisdiction

Sahil Shah

Dear Experts, I am doing a new registration under GST.

Two things are required -

1. Center Jurisdiction & 2. State Jurisdiction. There is a link given to find center jurisdiction, but not for state jurisdiction. My area is Dahisar East in Mumbai. Under the dropdown list, there are many options of entire mumbai. Including Dahisar-701, Dahisar-702.....upto Dahisar-709.

So how to know which is my exact state jurisdiction? Please guide me how to find it.

Note - I have found my center jurisdiction from link provided on cbic website, only issue is with state jurisdiction.

Thanks in Advance.

State jurisdiction in GST registration should be confirmed via the State tax department or determined by the Common Portal System. Applicants lacking State jurisdiction details should consult the State Commercial Tax Department website to identify the issuing authority. If State jurisdiction is uncertain, enter the Central jurisdiction on the GST portal; the Common Portal System and concerned officers will determine or correct the State jurisdiction during application examination and processing. Sir,

You go to the website of your state commercial tax department. From there you can find out your exact jurisdictional authority who will issue the registration certificate.

You may fill up Central Jurisdiction. The Common Portal System (Concerned Officers) will determine the correct jurisdiction as per guidelines issued to them.Suppose you fill wrong jurisdiction, it will be corrected by the Common Portal System.

Your uploaded application will be thoroughly examined from all angles/purposes.
