Clarification on Adjusting IGST Returns: Must Offset Against IGST Only, Use DRC-03 or GSTR-3B for Corrections A query was raised regarding the adjustment of Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) sales returns against Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) outputs. The original adjustment was made in July 2019, but a staff member later advised that this was not permissible, suggesting repayment was necessary. Responses from three individuals clarified that IGST sales returns should be adjusted against IGST only, while CGST and SGST sales returns should be adjusted against their respective outputs. They advised using DRC-03 for repayment or adjusting in the next GSTR-3B filing, with a refund claim possible within two years. (AI Summary)
