Invoice for export

Satyen Rohit

Hello Sir,

I am and individual with a GST number, IEC and current account, all on my personal pan card and I dont have any registered company. How can I make an invoice for exports of goods ?

Sole Proprietor Can Issue Export Invoices Using Personal GST and IEC Without Registered Company; Consider Trade Name Benefits. An individual with a GST number, IEC, and a current account linked to their personal PAN card inquired about issuing export invoices without a registered company. Respondents advised that having a registered company is unnecessary; the individual can operate as a sole proprietor and use their GST and IEC for invoicing. It was suggested that while operating under a personal name is feasible, establishing a professional business name might be beneficial for future business prospects. This involves amending GST details, opening a new bank account, and modifying the IEC code to reflect a trade name. (AI Summary)

Sir,

It is not necessary that you must have a registered company to raise an invoice. You treat you as proprietor of a firm which is engaged in exporting goods. Therefore you can raise an invoice indicvating your GST number and IEC.

In my view a proprietor can also do export.

You can raise the invoice in the name of your IEC.

Moreover, if you have GST & IEC under your own personal name then = Firm (Company in your words) Proprietorshiprship Firm with your personal name.

For future aspects moving forward business in personal name is not too good , so I advise you to amend your GST, your legal name would be as per PAN (Your name) but you can enter different trade name in GST portal, open new bank current account in trade name and modify your IEC code & you have professional business name like Adani Enterprise or Om International, etc.
