GST for individual house construction

Preeti Preeti

I have to construct residential house in my plot, I am hiering an construction company( architectural plan +materials+construction)

Can anybody clarify about for what and all should I pay the GST for, and should I pay the double times GST to the construction company for materials as they would have already paid while purchasing from shop...

GST on Residential Construction: 12% for full services, 18% without land cost; labor-only contracts are exempt. An individual inquired about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) applicable to constructing a residential house using a construction company that provides architectural plans, materials, and construction services. One response clarified that a 12% GST rate applies under specific notifications, while another stated that the rate is 18% if the contract excludes land cost, disallowing a 1/3 abatement for land. If the individual supplies materials and the contract is for labor only, it is considered an exempt supply. If the contractor purchases materials, they can claim an Input Tax Credit (ITC).
