Income tax on remittance

vivek Vk

Hi, e

I was gulf NRI FOR the past few years. Returned back from gulf on June 2017. There is no income tax in Qatar.

Remittance made by me from April 2017 to June 2017 will be counted as income while filing the return.

Please let me know

Regards

Vivekvk

NRI's Remittances from Qatar (April-June 2017) Deemed Non-Taxable in India as per Expert Opinion. An individual who was a non-resident Indian (NRI) in the Gulf returned to India in June 2017 and inquired about the tax implications on remittances made from April to June 2017. They noted that there is no income tax in Qatar. A respondent advised that, in their opinion, these remittances would not attract income tax in India. (AI Summary)
